Somatic Hypnotherapy

Your mind is more powerful than you think.

Health, serenity, and fulfillment are neither a matter of chance, nor a luxury reserved for a select few; they are goals that most people can pursue and achieve. Discover how lasting change occurs when what you experience and feel within shifts — and the entire system naturally reorganizes itself. Physiology calms, mindset shifts, thoughts follow, behaviors adapt, and the emotional meaning changes.

Somatic Hypnotherapy is a holistic approach to emotional health and well-being that can help you tap into the vast resources of your subconscious mind to ease emotional, behavioral, and somatic (physical) issues that prevent you from achieving your goals. This approach can help you overcome painful traumatic memories, stress, anxiety, phobias, rejection, betrayal, anger, grief, guilt, shame, insomnia, pain, tics, spasms, and much more by turning them into nothing but serene, distant memories. All this, not by masking the symptoms, but by targeting the underlying root causes through a simple, pleasant, and quick process. The No Results – No Pay policy and my excellent references are a guarantee of my integrity and the seriousness of this approach.

How is lasting emotional change possible?

The power of Somatic Hypnotherapy lies in its conceptual clarity and its ability to bridge the gap between the ancestral know-how of traditional healing arts and the scientific rigor of several contemporary behavioral models it incorporates. This approach demystifies vague and ill-defined concepts, as well as the cryptic language that obscures the spiritual dimension of human nature and fuels confusion. Even if nothing describes happiness better than metaphors, they cannot help overcome trauma, suffering, anxiety, or pain when those feelings overwhelm us. Only by grasping the true meaning of words — by understanding what thoughts, feelings, and emotions actually are — and by recognizing that what determines the quality of our life is, above all, what we experience and feel within, do we give ourselves a chance to overcome life's challenges. Because serenity, happiness, love, fear, anxiety, pain, and everything else that truly matters in life are not intentional thoughts that cross our minds, but what we experience and feel within, and that our minds recognize as emotions.

Why feelings — not willpower — govern our behavior.

As long as life treats them well, people tend to believe that their well-being is the exclusive result of their desires and rational, considered choices. Only when things go wrong — and people try in vain to regain control — do they realize that rational control works only as long as they are not overwhelmed by strong emotional or physical (somatic) feelings. When trauma, pain, stress, anxiety, anger, shame, envy, or other intense or persistent feelings get involved, they tend to influence, disrupt, and even bypass the rational mind, triggering deeply ingrained, excessive, or inappropriate behavioral patterns. However, not all feelings are unwelcome. Joy, happiness, love, and other positive feelings make life pleasant and fulfilling. When faced with complex or consequential decisions, those well-connected to that non-verbal, ultra-fast, instinctive form of intelligence called gut feeling, intuition, or premonition often make better decisions and more accurate predictions — according to D. Myers, G. Lufityanto, C. Donkin, J. Pearson, and many others.

Humans are inherently sentient beings with an innate capacity to experience physical and emotional feelings, and through them to acquire a subjective awareness of the world and their place in it. This innate ability to perceive one's own emotional state and its associated signals — called emotional awareness — is essential for healthy emotional response patterns, empathy, and social interactions. Impairment of this ability — known as reduced emotional intelligence — can lead to overreactions, self-centered attitudes, difficulty understanding the feelings of others, and even sociopathic tendencies. This is why people terrified of spiders, airplanes, or elevators are not naive; they know these things are not dangerous. Yet they may still overreact, not out of madness, but because visceral, fearful feelings take over — regardless of what the rational mind knows. Strong feelings, whether rational or irrational, can easily disrupt the conscious mind and take control of thoughts, decisions, and behavior.

Your emotional patterns are the most defining aspect of who you are.

Your patterns of emotional response are not only the most significant ingredient of your identity and a major aspect of your quality of life — they are also the most undeniable proof that you are not a soulless, purposeless biochemical machine, but a sentient human being in search of meaning, purpose, and happiness. Everyone wants to be happy. Yet, since there are so many unhappy and suffering people, daily reality does not necessarily stem from wishes and desires alone. You can think what you want about your feelings, and through willpower you may manage to control — to some extent — the behavior they induce. But willpower alone cannot put an end to pain or anxiety simply by wishing it away. By all scientific standards, your feelings, long-term memory, and emotional patterns are processed and regulated by the limbic system — a part of your brain that operates beyond the reach of your conscious mind. Try to erase the sensation of hunger, fear, or pain by pure intention, and you will understand why.

Your emotional feelings are deep-rooted and can become trapped where they manifest within you — whether you call that inner space your subconscious, your soul, your spirit, your peripheral nervous system, or simply your body. When you feel trapped by stress, anxiety, trauma, or other disturbing feelings, you can either accept them as an inevitable part of life and learn to live with them — or you can see them as a harmful presence you wish to uproot and leave behind. I believe you not only can, but must let go of the disturbing feelings that keep you anchored in your past. Living with unresolved stress or anxiety is like walking with pebbles in your shoes: you can no longer focus on what matters, your energy is drained, and your thoughts are constantly hijacked. Learn to listen to your body's whispers before they become painful screams.

What makes Somatic Hypnotherapy different from other approaches?

Do not fall into the trap of believing there is nothing more you can do to change your emotional reality. If you neglect your negative feelings, they accumulate, cause collateral damage, and take a toll on every aspect of your emotional, mental, and physical health. Importantly, what impacts your daily life is not the objective memory of past events, but the emotional residue you still perceive when recalling the subjective perception of those events. Although you cannot change the factual past, you can still transform the emotional memory of past experiences by reprogramming the subconscious patterns of your unpleasant emotional reactions. Whether you are at the beginning of your distress or have been living with it for years, Somatic Hypnotherapy can help.

Hypnotherapy has evolved considerably since Dr. James Braid described it as an empirical medical approach in 1843. The different types of hypnotherapy available today differ greatly in their philosophy, approach, and results. Somatic Hypnotherapy is a particularly distinctive type of hypnotherapy, characterized by its subtractive philosophy and, above all, by its consistent results. While conventional hypnotherapy focuses on adding successive layers of positive feelings on top of lingering negative ones, Somatic Hypnotherapy helps you identify, assess, and ease or resolve unpleasant emotional or somatic feelings at their source. This approach frees you from uncomfortable feelings that keep you trapped in the past and prevent you from living fully in the present. Since behavior is determined by how you feel rather than by what you think about your feelings, the most direct path to behavioral change is to change how you feel.

When looking for out-of-the-ordinary results, consider out-of-the-ordinary approaches. Most conventional methods aim to teach you how to avoid the thoughts, images, and situations that trigger your unwanted feelings. But you deserve better than a lifetime of managing and avoiding. You should be able to think about anything you want — including your most difficult memories — without fear of triggering pain. Incredible as it may sound, this is precisely what Somatic Hypnotherapy can help you achieve.

How the subconscious learns — and unlearns — in seconds.

While the conscious mind may require time and sustained effort to learn a new habit or emotional response pattern, the subconscious mind learns almost instantaneously. It takes only a split second for the subconscious to acquire an unhealthy emotional response to a situation perceived as threatening or emotionally overwhelming. The good news is that with this approach, the subconscious can unlearn these patterns just as quickly as it learned them. By the end of your therapy, you will be able to mentally revisit your most difficult memories and find that the distressing feelings associated with them have significantly diminished — or disappeared entirely — while your cognitive memory of the factual details remains fully intact.

In Somatic Hypnotherapy, you will neither work alone nor undergo therapy passively. You will be an active participant in your own transformation. Your subconscious mind will respond to your wishes and follow your intentions. My role is to guide you through the process — but you are the architect of your own change. The moment your subconscious agrees to release the unpleasant feelings of the past, your new emotional reality takes hold, and you will clearly feel that there is no longer any distress associated with the events we have worked on.

What to expect after your first session.

By the end of your first session, you will most likely notice a significant boost in self-worth, an improvement in your state of mind, posture, and attitude, and a meaningful relief from the anxiety, stress, trauma, pain, or other unpleasant feelings related to the experiences we have addressed. That said, you will be at the beginning of your healing process, not the end. Somatic Hypnotherapy helps you reset the emotional weight of the past — but it is not a magic spell that protects you from future challenges, nor is it intended to make you feel invincible or oblivious to life's realities.

My role is to help you remove the emotional padlocks that keep you confined to self-limiting beliefs and unresolved past experiences. Whatever the nature of your emotional wounds, I can help you trigger a healing so profound that, by the end of your therapy, you will feel as though those wounds never existed. Learning from your experiences and living your life fully, however, remains your work. Somatic Hypnotherapy can help you even when nothing else has worked — provided you bring a genuine willingness to change.

This approach is efficient enough that several interrelated issues can be addressed in a single session, with results you can assess on the spot. My promise is that you will see a meaningful improvement after your first session, provided the issue falls within my area of expertise and you are not in psychosis, experiencing severe cognitive decline, or alexithymic (emotionally numb). If you see no improvement at the end of your first session, I will not charge you.

Your feelings are the compass of your life — listen to them.

Whatever their nature, intensity, or origin — whether emotional, somatic, or the subtler kind called intuition or gut feeling — your feelings have a profound impact on every aspect of your life. Paying attention to them, cultivating emotional awareness and intelligence, and staying connected to that inner reality is the foundation of a healthy and fulfilling life. You are here for a reason. Whatever that reason is, do not allow unresolved feelings to diminish it.

The "No Results – No Pay" principle guarantees my integrity and applies to all my therapies. Contact me and book your appointment today.

*In Somatic Hypnotherapy, the terms "feelings" and "emotional feelings" are often used interchangeably and refer to sensory experiences perceived onto or within the body, assessed, interpreted, and integrated through interoception and conceptualized by the rational mind as "emotions." - which is consistent with their  traditional, biological and medical meanings , but differs considerably from the meaning of the term 'feeling' in cognitive psychology, where it often converges and merges with the term 'emotion'.

**The results may vary from person to person.

***In other words, if at the end of your session you don't see any improvement in the issues addressed in therapy, I won't accept your money!
