Alex Priala, master practitioner in Somatic HypnotherapyContact, fees

My name is Alex V. Priala. I am a certified naturopath, master practitioner and trainer in Somatic Hypnotherapy. With over twenty years of experience in listening, advising and supporting others to experience positive changes, I am an active member of various professional associations.

Studying science and technology in my youth helped me develop an analytical mind rooted in laic beliefs and ideals. As I got older, I learned to see with my heart and realized that helping others through difficult times is the well-kept secret of happiness. Since then, I have made it my mission to help people improve their lives - and I love my work! My excellent references bear witness to my integrity and the good results of my approach.

It all started over 40 years ago when, while seeking healing for myself, I was exposed to some very effective traditional Eastern healing approaches. These personal experiences marked the beginning of a passion for ancient forms of hypnotherapy and ancestral healing rituals, a passion that has grown over time into a professional career that I love. With a solid scientific background and a university degree in social sciences, in pursuing my vocation, I attended several conferences and seminars on trans-personal and somatic psychology, parapsychology, ritual healing practices and various other holistic approaches to health and well-being. I also followed several trainings in traditional, intuitive, humanist, spiritual, Ericksonian and Somatic Hypnotherapy.

The most memorable encounters of my career are those with my mentors Edith Acédo and Francine Boisvert, two very generous trainers and respected master practitioners, gifted with exceptional intuition and talent. While keeping a constant interest in the spiritual aspects of human nature, I remain an open-minded, well-informed and intellectually curious naturopath who believes in the rigor of scientific methods. I am a passionate and authentic craftsman of health and well-being who sees his role as a hypnotherapist a privilege and a great responsibility. My mission is to help you experience quick and lasting positive changes, as you see fit.

I do not advise, coach or train people on how to live their lives better. Whatever you really want to think or do in your life, is none of my business! However, when you often find yourself thinking, feeling, or doing things against your will, I can help you regain control. Thanks to its customized approach, Somatic Hypnotherapy is the quickest and most reliable approach to root-out lasting stress and anxiety, traumas, phobias, insomnia, chronic pain, grief, guilt, shame, unwanted behaviors, bad habits, and much more. The practical goal of my work is to help you regain control of your life by suppressing unwanted emotions and the associated unpleasant feelings - thereby changing mindset, thoughts and behavior.

Somatic Hypnosis is a team effort! While helping you identify and reset your accumulated stress, anxiety, trauma and other unwanted feelings is my job, learning from your experiences and living your daily life is your job! It is still your job to understanding that what really has the power to fulfill or jeopardize your life is not the memory of your past events but the associated emotional feelings that your memories still awaken. It's like when you'd accidentally hurt yourself; what really bothers you is not the memory of the accident, but the pain you feel. And it will only bother you to the extent that, and only for as long as you'll feel the pain!

Somatic Hypnotherapy is a contemporary version of Traditional Hypnotherapy - as described by Dr. James Braid in terms of empirical medical approach, updated with the rigor of the most advanced Western scientific models. Somatic Hypnotherapy has successfully integrated and developed into a coherent therapeutic practice various visionary scientific models; notably the Somatic Markers Hypothesis, the concept of Emotional Coherence, the Ritual Healing Theory, and the Morpfogenetic Field Theory. The hallmark of Somatic Hypnotherapy is the use of a very particular metaphorical language aimed at triggering a subtle yet very powerful process of neuro-linguistic modulation - process capable of instantly regulating the somatic component of any unwanted emotion or unpleasant feeling that you wish to suppress.*

When it comes to scientific evidence, one of the most misleading claims is that the science is unequivocal. It is good to know that science is never settled, and it is exceptionally rare to end up with a scientific consensus on anything. When dealing with emotional or behavioral issues, there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach. Therefore the psychiatry, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, neuro-linguistic-programming, E.F.T., pet therapy, art-therapy, mindfulness, yoga, craniosacral therapy, gravity blanket, mini-horses therapy and many other approaches based on very contradictory and yet scientific concepts and models of human behavior, are all available to help solving various emotional and behavioral issues. However, what really matters for all practical purposes are the results!

Beyond popularity or academic recognition, the true measures of the effectiveness of any therapeutic approach are the results - especially when they are measurable and reproducible. Thus, the predictability of the good results of Somatic Hypnotherapy is an undeniable confirmation of the conceptual coherence of this highly effective approach to health and well-being. Thus, even if Somatic Hypnotherapy is a team work, the principle of "no results - no pay" is the ethical guarantor of my work and it applies to all my therapies. In other words, if at the end of your first therapy session you do not see any improvement in the issue we have been working on, I will not accept your money! Aside from its spectacular results, this approach works with everyone - unless you have a really hard time to experience emotional feelings.

Unlike other therapeutic approaches that promise results you may eventually experience in the future, with Somatic Hypnotherapy you will assess most of your results on the spot, immediately after each therapy session. During your first session in Somatic Hypnotherapy you will experience profound changes. Throughout your therapy, you will have the opportunity to change the emotional reading of your past, as you see fit. You'll have the chance to significantly diminish or to winnow away unwanted emotions, pain, and any other unpleasant feelings. However, please keep in mind that complex or deeply rooted problems may require more than one therapy session for a complete remission.*

However, with my approach, you don't run the risk of getting bogged down in endless therapy sessions, as I rarely give a client more than three sessions in a row, regardless of the issue at hand. You will experience significant improvements after each session, regardless of the extent or severity of the problem being treated. If ever, at the end of your first session, you do not notice an improvement in the problem you want to solve, it is very likely that unfortunately, this approach is not your therapy of choice and that it is not worth pursuing.

Unlike other approaches, in Somatic Hypnotherapy not only are your results guaranteed, but you don't even need to understand the exact cause of your unpleasant feelings to be able to uproot them. Since this approach focuses on your feelings - not what you think about your feelings - knowing the factual details of your past is not essential to trigger healing. For, with the proper care, your fractured bone will heal the same, whether or not you understand how it broke.

Although many people claim to have been healed by Somatic Hypnotherapy, I do not heal anyone. Healing is nothing more than the self-healing process that one experiences when freed from his fears. By releasing stress, anxiety and traumas, the body creates a loop of positive feedback through the autonomic nervous system, feedback that can lead to significant improvements in state of mind and in symptoms of various medical conditions.
